“We are the body of Christ making disciples by loving God and serving one another.”

FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, WEST DUNDEE, IL.  A member of the Northern Illinois Conference of the United Methodist ChurchFUMC has been serving the people of West Dundee, IL since 1835.  Located at the heart of historic Main St., West Dundee, we have that small town, family church experience combined with the latest technology, as well as a firm commitment to mission and ministry not only here in our community, but around the world as well.

Our Sundays begin with Adult Study classes at 9:00 am.  Our Pastor, Rev. Soon Sun Lee, leads a study of the Scriptures that will be preached that morning.  Our Adult Education leader, Tom download (3)Miller, leads a series of study classes on a variety of topics.  Worship and Sunday School for children and youth follow at 10:00 am.  After worship, we gather for Fellowship in the Fireside Room.

We have a variety of opportunities to learn, serve, and grow together as Christians.  Every Tuesday morning at 9:30 am, our Prayer Group gather with the Pastor to talk and pray together for those lifted up in Sunday’s worship service.  Every Thursday morning at 9:30 am, Pastor Soon leads a study of the Scriptures for the upcoming Sunday worship service.  Wednesday evenings at 6:30 pm, our choir rehearses.  And the second Tuesday of every month, we have a dedicated group of knitters who work on hats, gloves, blankets, and prayers shawls that are then blessed and given to those in need.

Our United Methodist Women meet the second Sunday of every month, September through May, at 8:00 am.  We also have a Men’s Breakfast at 8:00 am the second Sunday of the month, hosted by Michael Buhrmann, on the second Sunday as well.

Through our Missions Team, we support local outreach organizations for those in need, including PADS, Crisis Center and the F.I.S.H. food pantries.  We sponsor Blood Drives, hold benefit concerts, and have committed ourselves as  a congregation to supporting Imagine No Malaria.  We have raised over $700 just from the collection of pocket change!
