“We are the body of Christ making disciples by loving God and serving one another.”
FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, WEST DUNDEE, IL. A member of the Northern Illinois Conference of the United Methodist Church, FUMC has been serving the people of West Dundee, IL since 1835. Located at the heart of historic Main St., West Dundee, we have that small town, family church experience combined with the latest technology, as well as a firm commitment to mission and ministry here in our community, and around the world.
Our Sundays begin with Adult Study classes at 8:45 am. Worship and Sunday School for children and youth follow at 10:00 am. After worship, we gather for Fellowship in the Fireside Room.
We have a variety of opportunities to learn, serve, and grow together as Christians. Every other Tuesday morning at 9:30 am, our Prayer Group gather with the Pastor to pray together for those lifted up in Sunday’s worship service. Thursday morning’s at 9:30 am, Pastor leads a study. Wednesday evenings at 6:30 pm, our choir rehearses. And the second Tuesday of every month, we have a dedicated group of knitters who work on hats, gloves, blankets, and prayers shawls that are then blessed and given to those in need.
Our United Methodist Women meet the second Sunday of every month, September through May, at 8:00 am. We also have a Men’s Breakfast at 8:00 am the second Sunday of the month.
Through our Missions Team, we support local outreach organizations for those in need, including PADS, Crisis Center, Child Serve, Shoe Box Ministry, and the F.I.S.H. food pantries. We hold benefit concerts, Annual Crop Walk and have committed ourselves as a congregation to supporting Imagine No Malaria.
